Australia's Jess Fox is into the finals of both the C1 and the K1 at the Australian Canoe Slalom Open in Penrith, but she's had to settle for second-best qualifier in both.
The double world champion finished behind fellow Australian Ros Lawrence in the C1 semi-final, having picked up four penalty seconds for two gate touches.
By contrast Lawrence, the Oceania Champion, had a clean run. Fox's younger sister, Noemie, qualified third.
Another gate touch in the K1 semi-final also cost Jessica Fox the top qualifying position, with Italy's Stephanie Horn finishing in top spot.
Ros Lawrence and Ali Borrows also qualified for Sunday's K1 final.
In the men's events, Australia's Lucien Delfour once again proved his class in qualifying first for the K1 final, finishing more than one second ahead of Germany's Sebastian Schubert.
London Olympian Kynan Maley, on the comeback trail after retiring in 2012, is the only Australian through to the men's C1 final.
Frenchman Nicolas Peschier qualified first for Sunday's final.
