Rumours continue to swirl around the fitness of England spearhead Jimmy Anderson but fellow paceman Stuart Broad insists they're rubbish.
Eyebrows were raised when Anderson only delivered a three-over spell with the second new ball on Saturday morning at the Gabba.
England's record wicket-taker, who was comfortably their most-threatening bowler during Australia's first innings of the opening Ashes Test, regularly ducked off the field on day three.
"I don't really know where this mystery injury has come from. He's just bowled, he's just bowled 29 overs for 50." Broad said.
"Not that I know of. I've spent the whole day with him; he's not moaned about anything or said he's sore or injured.
"It was quite hot work out there. We had to rotate the bowlers a little bit.
"It was a bit of a plan with Rooty (captain Joe Root) - three, four-over spells to make sure we're always hitting the pitch."
Anderson, with 508 Test wickets, was laid low by a stomach bug last week in Townsville.
The 35-year-old delivered the 115th over of Australia's innings but did not roll the arm over again. The hosts' dig spanned 130.3 overs.
