Job ads on internet extend run of growth

Job advertising on the internet grew 0.2 per cent in September, marking an 11th consecutive month of growth.

Jobs advertising on the internet has grown for 11 consecutive months to stand nearly seven per cent higher than a year ago, suggesting strong employment gains will continue for a while.

Department of Employment figures show job advertising rose by a further 0.2 per cent in September with four of the eight occupational groups it monitors rising in the month.

The two territories led the way for jobs ads in the month, with the ACT up 1.1 per cent and the Northern Territory rising two per cent, albeit from a low base, the department said.
