Punk icon John Lydon is planning to release a second autobiography.

The former Sex Pistols frontman is working on the untitled tome with music journalist Andrew Perry.

"This book is basically about the life of a serious risk-taker. I make things safe for other people to follow on in my wake. I'm a stand-up-and-be-counted fella, but that's in a world where nobody seems to be able to count," he said.

The untitled autobiography, published by Simon & Schuster, will be released at the end of 2014.

Lydon's last book, Rotten: No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs, was released in 1994.
