Australia have enjoyed a seamless summer and still have an ace up their sleeve in the form of bowling talisman Mitchell Johnson.

Australian have not tasted defeat in all forms of the game in two months, a streak which was extended when their Tri-Series one-dayer against India at the SCG was abandoned on Monday.

The match was declared a draw with the Indians at 2-69 off 16 over, with play called off due to persistent rain in Sydney throughout the afternoon and early evening.

Heading into the World Cup, which begins on February 14, the Australians are in fine touch and will welcome back Johnson for the Tri-Series final in Perth on Sunday.

Johnson has been rested for Australia's first four matches of the Tri-Series after going down with a hamstring injury during the Boxing Day Test.

Earlier in the week, captain George Bailey said Johnson was bowling with plenty of venom in net sessions and he will be licking his lips at being unleashed on a pace-friendly WACA deck.

England must draw or win their final Tri-Series regular round match with India to win through to the final.

If they do, it will be a chance for Johnson to inflict further emotional damage on the English after terrorising them during the 2013-14 Ashes.

Meanwhile, India are running out of time to ignite their World Cup defence after failing to register a win since arriving in Australia in December.

They arrived showing plenty of promise following a 5-0 one-day series whitewash of Sri Lanka.

However, after an inconsistent performance during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, they have been humbled by England and pipped by Australia in the Tri-Series.
