Singer Jon Stevens' BMW has allegedly struck a 69-year-old pedestrian in Sydney's east.

Police say a 53-year-old struck a pedestrian on New South Head Road, Point Piper on Monday afternoon.

The 69-year-old suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The former Noiseworks frontman stopped to assist the elderly man before he was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating the incident.

It comes a week after Stevens was part of a headline-generating boozy lunch with colourful businessman John Singleton.

Last month Stevens had assault charges against him dropped over an incident involving ex-fiancee Jodhi Meares.

The musician said he was devastated after the incident.

"I hope the gentleman is OK, police and paramedics have assured me he is," Stevens told Channel Nine in a statement.

"It was just an accident. I can't take a trick right now.

"I'm devastated."
