Australia's Josh Brookes has broken the Oulton Park lap record to take his first pole position of the season ahead of the third round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship.
Riding the Milwaukee Yamaha he lapped the Cheshire circuit in one minute 34.946 seconds to see off the challenge of Tommy Bridewell on the Tyco BMW by 0.014 seconds.
Stuart Easton completed the front row of the grid. The leading pair in the championship, Shane Byrne and James Ellison, will start from the second row, both within half a second of Brookes.
