Canterbury have opted not to unleash new recruit Brett Morris, however, his twin brother Josh will headline their Auckland Nines squad.
Ex-Dragons flyer Brett Morris was a glaring omission in an otherwise strong 18-man Bulldogs squad unveiled on Friday.
Coach Des Hasler has opted for the likes of Josh Morris and big boppers Tony Williams, Aiden Tolman and Frank Pritchard along with some promising youngsters.
Despite Samoan forward Pritchard's injection, Canterbury appear to have not considered other Four Nations stars such as James Graham (England), David Klemmer, Josh Jackson (Australia) and Greg Eastwood (New Zealand).
Halves Trent Hodkinson (knee) and Josh Reynolds (shoulder) are still recovering from complaints.
Eight members of the Bulldogs' Nines squad contested the inaugural tournament last year.
Williams, Moses Mbye, Sam Perrett, Lloyd Perrett, Tyrone Phillips and Corey Thompson ran out for Canterbury while new recruits Michael Lichaa (Cronulla) and Curtis Rona (Cowboys) played for their former clubs.
The Bulldogs have been grouped with the Sydney Roosters, Brisbane and Cronulla at the Nines, with the top two teams advancing to the finals.
Canterbury Nines squad: Tim Browne, Damien Cook, Levi Dodd, Adam Elliott, Herman Eseese, Antonio Kaufusi, Shaun Lane, Michael Lichaa, Moses Mbye, Josh Morris, Sam Perrett, Lloyd Perrett, Tyrone Phillips, Frank Pritchard, Curtis Rona, Corey Thompson, Aiden Tolman, Tony Williams.
