Canterbury centre Josh Morris has been ruled out of Friday night's NRL clash with the Wests Tigers due to an ankle injury.

Coach Des Hasler confirmed on Thursday morning Morris will miss the game at ANZ Stadium, which puts the 28-year-old in doubt for the Anzac Test against New Zealand in Brisbane next week.

Morris was named to play last weekend but was a late withdrawal in the Bulldogs' win over Manly.

His replacement will be named before the game.
