Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn took the No.1 spot in the world golf rankings without hitting a shot, while Paula Creamer and In-Kyung Kim topped the LPGA Classic leaderboard after two rounds in New Jersey.

Taking the week off, Jutanugarn replaced New Zealand's Lydia Ko atop the rankings when So Yeon Ryu missed the cut by three shots with her second straight 74.

Ko, also skipping the event, was guaranteed to lose the top spot to Jutanugarn or Ryu.

The 21-year-old Jutanugarn got the position when Ryu failed to finish solo third or better.

Creamer and Kim each shot four-under 67 to reach nine under at Stockton Seaview, while two-time defending champion Anna Nordqvist followed her opening 64 with a 71 to drop two strokes behind along with Moriya Jutanugarn - Ariya's older sister - and Jeong Eun Lee.

Karrie Webb had a round of three under to be four under for the tournament and five strokes off the lead as the leading Australian in a tie for 14th.
