JWH is irreplaceable, say wounded Roosters

Teammates have described injured Roosters prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves as irreplaceable as they set about trying to win the NRL premiership without him.

Representative back-rower Aidan Guerra has conceded Jared Waerea-Hargreaves is irreplaceable as the Sydney Roosters face the prospect of negotiating the NRL final series without their injured star forward.

Waerea-Hargreaves won't play again this season after suffering a knee injury in the Roosters win over Brisbane on Saturday night.

However Guerra believes the Roosters have the depth to cover the loss of their Kiwi prop.

When asked at training on Monday if Waerea-Hargreaves would be impossible to replace, Guerra replied: "For what he does for our team possibly, especially by one person.

"But that is the beauty of team sport, someone goes down and it's not up to one person to fill that void, it is up to the team."

Sam Moa might make an early return for the Roosters' round 25 clash with Manly on Friday, in place of Waerea-Hargreaves.

But Mitchell Pearce will be sidelined for around a month after picking up a hamstring injury against the Broncos.

"There aren't too many sides that don't have injuries to their players at the moment so we aren't going to be the ones crying the loudest," Guerra said.

"We just use the side we do have to hopefully continue winning games."

Jackson Hastings will fill in at halfback for Pearce, as he did against Brisbane.
