Karrie Webb sees signs of better form going into the Women's PGA Championship as she also battles for Olympic Games selection.

The winner of seven majors, Webb enters this week's second major of 2016 at Sahalee Country Club ranked a dismal 130th in putting statistics on the LPGA Tour this year.

That probably goes a long way to explaining her lack of stellar results since a third placing at the Women's Australian Open back in February.

Young countrywoman Su Oh has closed right in on Webb in the battle to join world No.13 Minjee Lee in Australia's women's golf team at the Rio Olympics.

With the cut-off date looming next month, 41-year-old Webb is ranked No.51 with Oh at No.62 after her second placing in last month's Kingsmill Championship.

"My last two tournaments have had me going in more of the right direction," said Webb.

"My putting seems to making some good progress so if I can put it all together I'm hoping for a good week on course that really excites me to play.

"The course is fantastic. It is pretty demanding, asking a lot from the tee."

Lee, Webb and Oh head a six-woman Australian contingent in the Women's PGA Championship, joining Sarah Jane Smith, Sarah Kemp and Katherine Kirk.

Kemp (22nd) and Kirk (31st) are both coming off their best finishes in 2016 at last week's Shoprite Classic in Atlantic City.
