It will go down as one of the greatest try-saving - and match-winning - tackles in recent history, but now Sam Kasiano is desperate to repeat his Test heroics at NRL level.
The Canterbury-Bankstown prop came up with the clutch play when his fearless, desperate dive at the corner post cut off Tonga winger Jorge Taufua from stealing a last-gasp victory over Samoa in last weekend's thrilling Pacific Test on the Gold Coast.
Only problem was that good mate Frank Pritchard was right there beside him.
"Frankie reckons he saved that try. He carried on the whole time. And he's still going now," Kasiano told AAP on Wednesday.
"I'm pretty sure it was mine."
In what was his first Test for Toa Samoa, Kasiano was one of the side's best in the 18-16 win and labelled his cover tackle as a career highlight.
"I don't think I've ever pulled off a better tackle than that. I'd just seen there was no fullback and thought, `Oh s***, no one's going to cover'," he said.
"But it was unreal to pull on that jersey, especially for the first time. I got to represent my mum, my dad, and all my family back home."
Now the 25-year-old is on a mission to not only replicate that form at club level, but push for a premiership shot that he missed last year due to a severe ankle injury.
The fifth-year front-rower started in the club's grand final defeat to Melbourne in 2012, when he was named Dally M Prop of the Year, and is aiming for a return to that level.
"I was burning that I missed out on last year's one. I really want to make another one," Kasiano said.
"That play on the weekend, I've got to try and do that for the club now this week against the Cowboys.
"I've just got to try and find some more and get some wins for the club.
"It'd be good if I can play like I did back [in 2012]. But I've just got to take it one step at a time."
Kasiano re-signed with the Bulldogs in late March for another three years, despite serious interest from a number of rival clubs.
However the former New Zealand representative said he had never intended to leave Belmore.
"That was just my manager talking to other clubs. I wanted to stay here," he said.
"The club look after me and my family, and the boys were another big reason I wanted to stay, too.
"There have been many good times. Hopefully we can have another one this year and get to a grand final again - and maybe win this time."
