KFC fattens up profits at Colins Foods

Colins Foods, the company behind KFC and Sizzler restaurants, has bounced back into the black with a $14.3m first half profit.

The company behind the KFC and Sizzler restaurants chain has lifted its first half profit by a third and lifted its interim dividend for shareholders.

Colins Foods lifted net profit to $14.3 million in the half year to October 18, bouncing back from a $22.9 million loss a year earlier. Revenue rose 5.1 per cent to $269.7 million.

Its chain of KFC fast-food restaurants lifted same-store sales by 5.2 per cent, while Sizzler's fell 12 per cent.

The group lifted its full franked interim dividend by one cent to six cents a share.
