Two men have been charged with using live kittens as bait for greyhounds in southeast Queensland.

The Coominya men, aged 26 and 62, are accused of using the kittens to train dogs between August 2014 and May this year.

They've been charged by the joint RSPCA and Queensland Police taskforce investigating live baiting and other instances of animal cruelty in the state, which has so far arrested 23 people on 65 charges.

They are due to appear in Ipswich Magistrate’s court next week.
