Kiwi reported to be arrested in Thailand

The New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it's checking reports that a Kiwi has been arrested in Thailand on drug charges.

Another New Zealander is reportedly facing drugs charges in Asia, this time in Thailand.

Taylor Grainger, 41, has been arrested in Patong allegedly with 1.2 grams of methamphetamine and 0.95 grams of cocaine on him, Phuket Wan reports.

The tourism website shows a picture of the New Zealander with police at Kathu police station and says he was arrested as part of a blitz from December 20.

The New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it's checking the report.

On December 1, Antony de Malmanche, 52, was arrested at Bali's Denpasar airport, allegedly with 1.7kg of methamphetamine in his backpack and in November, Peter Gardner, 25, a New Zealander living in Australia, was detained on drugs charges in China.

Also in November, Leeza Ormsby, 38, was deported to New Zealand after being held in prison in Bali for nine months on drugs charges. She had been living in Sydney.
