Klemmer charged for tripping in Origin III

NSW prop David Klemmer is facing a maximum $1800 fine for tripping in the second half of State of Origin III.

NSW prop David Klemmer has been fined for tripping in the second half of the Blues' State of Origin III loss to Queensland.

Klemmer was hit with a grade one tripping charge for sticking his foot out on Maroons utility Ben Hunt in the 64th minute on Wednesday night.

He faces a maximum $1800 fine should he fight the charge and lose.

However the incident also could've cost the Blues a potential try that may have levelled the match and sent it to golden point.

Klemmer avoids a suspension and is now likely to back-up for Canterbury in their NRL match against South Sydney on Saturday.
