Newcastle coach Rick Stone admits he doesn't know where he will fit Tariq Sims into his side which has started the NRL season with four wins.

Newcastle coach Rick Stone is facing a selection headache with star recruit Tariq Sims to return for the NRL ladder leaders against St George Illawarra next week.

Stone admitted he was unsure of where he would slot in Sims after the Knights shot to an undefeated start in the first four rounds.

Beau Scott was Newcastle's best in their 26-14 win over Penrith on Saturday while Chris Houston - who was a late call up into the starting side after Robbie Rochow went down with a back injury in the warm up - put his hand up for more game time with a solid performance.

"He'll get there somewhere, not quite sure where yet," Stone said of Sims.

"He's trained really hard Taz, he's been a great addition to our squad, what he's brought in the pre-season, what he's brought around training has been great.

"He's been patient, he had to be patient. He had four games off, I don't think he'd envisage the team would be 4-0 when he came back but he's back next Saturday night against the Saints and he's looking forward to it."

Sims and his brother Korbin will become the sixth set of brothers to play at the Knights when the younger of the pair returns from a two-game suspension against Cronulla in a fortnight.

Tariq will be feeling like he owes a debt to his new club after being forced to spend the first month on the sidelines.

He was suspended for five weeks for a shoulder charge in last year's finals playing for his former club North Queensland.

"Tariq will be itching to get onto the field and stamp himself on the Knights," Scott said.

"I'm looking forward to playing with Tariq and we get Korbin the week after ... He's done a full pre-season and he's champing at the bit."
