Knights sign Sharks flyer Edrick Lee

Cronulla winger Edrick Lee will head to Newcastle on a three-year deal from next NRL season.

Newcastle have signed Cronulla winger Edrick Lee on a three-year NRL deal, beginning in 2019.

Lee, who has scored 42 tries in 83 games for the Sharks and Canberra, will join fellow young Sharks centre Jesse Ramien at the club next year.

"Edrick is an exciting player with size, height and speed. He will be a great addition, not only to our backline but to our playing group," Knights football manager Darren Mooney said.

"He's a talent with experience and a wealth of potential.

"Our squad has a great mix of youth and experience across every position so not only will he offer plenty on the field, he adds more depth to what is becoming a very competitive roster next season."

The Knights have identified their outside backs as a crucial area requiring more depth and upgrades, after they entered this season with space still available in their salary cap.

Lee will also be joined by Melbourne prop Tim Glasby, the club's biggest name recruit for 2019.
