Everyone has had their say on Jarryd Hayne this week, but Jamie Buhrer hasn't.
The Newcastle forward insists the Knights don't want to give the Gold Coast star any more ammunition after being put under an intense spotlight in the lead-up to Saturday's NRL clash.
"I'm not really going to comment - I don't want to give him extra motivation. I think he's got enough," Buhrer told reporters on Friday.
All eyes will be on the code-hopping superstar following reports he was fined, axed, then reinstated into the club's leadership group for missing an extra pre-season training session.
From former player Michael Ennis to super coach Wayne Bennett, the developments garnered league-wide attention as Hayne's work ethic came under the harsh microscope.
The saga also resulted in Titans coach Neil Henry walking out of his mid-week media conference.
Asked if the Knights feared a backlash from Hayne in their home-opener at McDonald Jones Stadium, Buhrer said: "Not really - it's not a fear.
"He's a great player; we're just mindful of it. We've done our video on Jarryd - we know what he's capable of. We're going to be hopefully doing everything we can to limit it."
Keeping Hayne under check will be key for a Newcastle side who lost their 19th straight NRL match in their season-opener last week against the Warriors.
The wooden-spoon favourites then copped a blow after confirmation youngster Dylan Phythian was ruled out for the year with a torn anterior cruciate in his knee.
Buhrer said it was important his teammates learned lessons from their round-one defeat, where they blew a two-point lead with just 13 minutes remaining.
"Certainly, that's the blueprint for us, or 50 minutes of it was. That's how we want to play. That's the type of footy that we're capable of," Buhrer said.
Hooker Tyler Randell and veteran Anthony Tupou could be late inclusions, with Chanel Mata'utia and Josh King cut on Friday from the 21-man squad.
For the Titans, rookie Tyronne Roberts-Davis is certain to make his NRL debut on the wing for an injured William Zillman.
