New Zealand teenage golfing sensation Lydia Ko has parted ways with her long-time coach Guy Wilson.
It is not clear who will now coach the 16-year-old, with some media reports saying she will come under the wing of renowned American coach David Leadbetter.
Auckland-based Wilson said in a statement he is saddened an 11-year relationship which began when Ko was five-years-old was over but he wishes her well.
The world No.4 ranked woman became a professional two months ago and was subsequently signed by management company IMG.
Wilson says it was an honour to help Ko develop into one of golf's brightest lights, having overseen a glittering amateur career.
She won five professional titles while working with Wilson and is sure that will continue as she pursues what is expected to be a lucrative career in the paid ranks.
After arriving in New Zealand from Korea, Ko's mother took her to the pro shop at Pupuke Golf Club on Auckland's North Shore run by Wilson.
"While I'm incredibly disappointed that our 11-year partnership is over, I respect Lydia and her team's decision," he said.
