Kokkinakis into Los Cabos ATP quarters

Australia's Thanasi Kokkinakis has claimed a three-set victory over Peter Polansky in the second round of the Los Cabos Open.

Australian comeback star Thanasi Kokkinakis has won a third-set tiebreak against Peter Polansky to reach the quarter-finals of the Los Cabos Open in Mexico.

Kokkinakis won the second-round clash 4-6 6-3 7-6, clinching the decisive tiebreak 7-4.

The 21-year-old will face the winner of world No.23 Albert Ramos Vinolas's clash with Taylor Fritz.

Kokkinakis, who is two months into a full-time ATP tour comeback after almost two years of crippling injuries, claimed victory over his Canadian opponent in just over two hours.

Meanwhile, top seed Tomas Berdych was too strong for Australian youngster Akira Santillan, ranked 168 in the world.

World No.14 Berdych claimed the 6-3 6-1 victory in 56 minutes.
