Kokkinakis wins ATP Challenger Tour title

Thanasi Kokkinakis has defeated Lloyd Harris in straight sets to claim the ATP Challenger Tour title in California.

Thanasi Kokkinakis has won his first ATP Challenger Tour title since 2015 and will jump into the world's top 200.

The Australian fourth seed was too good for South African Lloyd Harris in California, cruising to a 6-2 6-3 victory.

Earlier this week, Kokkinakis defeated fellow countryman Max Purcell in the opening round before victories over Japan's Kaichi Uchida, Indian eighth seed Prajnesh Gunneswaran and Italian top seed Thomas Fabbiano in the semi-finals.

He is projected to move up to 119th when the ATP rankings are released on Monday.

The 22-year-old Kokkinakis recorded the biggest win of his career in March when he defeated then world No.1 Roger Federer at the Miami Open but has failed to repeat that performance in subsequent tournaments.
