Three-time Olympian Liam de Young is set to become only the fourth player to make 300 appearances for the Australian men's hockey team.
De Young, a 2004 Olympic gold medallist, is poised to join Jay Stacy (321 caps), Brent Livermore (317) and current teammate Jamie Dwyer (308) as a member of the 300 club after being selected for the Sultan Azlan Shah tournament in Malaysia next month.
The 32-year-old defender from Brisbane debuted 14 years ago but remains a key player as the Kookaburras head into their last tournament before the 2014 World Cup.
In other milestones, Tasmanian Eddie Ockenden is set to make his 200th appearance at the six-team tournament while Victorian Glenn Simpson will reach a century of matches.
Coach Ric Charlesworth has made eight changes from the Kookaburras squad that competed at the World League Finals in Delhi in January.
