Player movement has continued at St George Illawarra with the NRL club signing utility Kris Keating from Super League and releasing Kyle Stanley.

The Dragons announced the signing of Keating to a one-year deal on Saturday after he struggled adapting to life in England with Hull Kingston Rovers.

Keating was just 12 months into a three-year deal with Rovers after leaving Canterbury after the NRL 2013 season.

The 25-year-old, two-time NSW City representative, played at halfback in the Bulldogs' 2012 grand final loss to Melbourne and spent time at five-eighth and hooker during his time at Parramatta (2008-10).

"Kris is an experienced player who has returned home early from the English Super League looking for another opportunity in the NRL," said Dragons coach Paul McGregor in a club statement.

"Kris has played representative football and also played in an NRL grand final, he will provide our squad with some additional depth and we look forward to him joining the Dragons."

Meanwhile, injury-plagued utility Stanley's departure from the Dragons follows that of representative star winger Brett Morris' switch to Canterbury.

While Keating's arrival comes after the joint venture signed journeymen George Rose, Heath L'Estrange and Beau Henry.
