Kuldeep Yadav's path to Test debut

Kuldeep Yada, the spinner who bamboozled Australia on Test debut in Dharamsala, has enjoyed an interesting path to international cricket.

WHO IS KULDEEP YADAV?

*Started his cricket career as a fast bowler but was convinced to take up left-arm wrist spin by an academy coach

*Starred at under-19 level for India. The performances led to him signing an Indian Premier League contract as a teenager

*Was mentored by Brad Hogg during last year's Indian Premier League season

*Had played 22 first-class games prior to his call-up, grabbing 81 wickets at 33.11

*Became India's first ever Test left-arm wrist spinner in Dharamsala and shed a tear after claiming his first Test wicket, the key scalp of David Warner

*Would not have played in the Test series decider between Australia and India if Virat Kohli was fit.
