Kylie Minogue reveals secret to success

Australian pop star says reading Malcolm Gladwell's self-help book Blink: The Power Of Thinking Without Thinking helped her reinvigorate her career.

Kylie Minogue credits a self-help book with her success.

Australia's Queen of Pop is a big fan of Malcolm Gladwell's 2005 tome Blink: The Power Of Thinking Without Thinking.

Minogue says the author's words have prompted her to make some major changes in her life, including joining The Voice UK, and signing with Jay Z's record label last year.

"Signing to Roc Nation was an epiphany - not to go with them, but to make a change," Minogue told British newspaper The Sun.

"I met with (Roc's co-founder) Jay Brown and I happened to be reading a book called Blink: The Power Of Thinking Without Thinking at the time, which helped me decide in the first 60 seconds that I met him," she said.

Minogue is now gearing up for the release of her 12th studio album.

She recently spoke about "embracing the future", even though working with new producers hasn't been easy.

"I actually didn't know where I was going or what the future held at the end of 2012," Minogue said last month.

"There's been a lot of change, this album is about taking the plunge and embracing the future and not holding on to things from the past.

"It wasn't the easiest road but signing with Roc Nation, spending a lot of time in America gave me a challenge and I needed that to feel reinvigorated."
