Nick Kyrgios has wound up his formal French Open preparations with a quickfire doubles defeat with fellow Australian Matt Reid in Lyon.
Kyrgios was on court for just 46 minutes on Thursday as he and Reid crashed to a 6-3 6-1 semi-final loss to Marcus Daniell and Marcelo Demoliner.
The 46-minute cameo at least provided Kyrgios with some much-needed court time after the world No.19 was eliminated in his singles opener this week by Argentine qualifier Nicolas Kicker.
Kyrgios's early exit came after he was forced to withdraw from last week's Rome Masters with a hip flexor injury, leaving the two-time grand slam quarter-finalist with just six claycourt matches under his belt heading into the Paris major starting on Sunday.
The 22-year-old heads a 10-strong Australian contingent at Roland Garros.
Kyrgios is seeded 18th, with Bernard Tomic, Jordan Thompson, John Millman, Thanasi Kokkinakis and Alex Di Minaur also in the men's draw.
Former runner-up Samantha Stosur, a semi-finalist for the fourth time last year, heads Australia's women's assault as the 23rd seed.
Daria Gavrilova is the 24th seed, with Ashleigh Barty returning for her first appearance at Roland Garros since 2014 and 17-year-old wildcard playoff winner Jaimee Fourlis set to make her debut at the claycourt slam.
The all-important draw takes place in Paris on Friday night (8pm AEST).
