Nick Kyrgios has surged into the fourth round of the Miami Masters as his draw opens invitingly with Andy Murray the latest big name casualty.
Yet to drop a set, the young Australian beat American qualifier Tim Smyczek 6-4-6-4 on Monday to set up a clash with Russia's Andrey Kuznetsov.
Kyrgios has a great chance to give his career a big boost this week, with big guns Rafael Nadal, Stan Wawrinka and now Murray all gone from his half of the draw.
World No.2 Murray, a two-time Miami Open champion, was derailed in a 6-7 (7-1) 6-4 6-3 third round loss to Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov.
"(I made) a lot of unforced errors in the third set," Murray said.
"After winning a close first set you want to try and put your opponent under pressure.
"Credit to him. He was more solid than me."
Kyrgios faces a likely quarter-final with world No.12 Milos Raonic if he gets past Kuznetsov, who backed up his straight sets upset of fourth seed Stan Wawrinka by beating Frenchman Adrian Mannarino 2-6 7-5 6-0.
And the highest-ranked player standing between him and a final berth is world No.6 Kei Nishikori, with No.1 Novak Djokovic on the other side of the draw.
Sixth seed Nishikori eased into the fourth round past Ukraine's Alexander Dolgopolov 6-2 6-2, while ninth-seeded Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was shown the Crandon Park exit by Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut 2-6 6-3 7-6 (7-3).
Next up for Dimitrov will be Frenchman Gael Monfils, who hit 13 aces in a 6-3 6-4 win over Pablo Cuevas.
