Labor 'bombarded' by Cormann transcripts

In a rare light-hearted moment during budget estimate hearings, senators have joked about the numerous media transcripts they receive from the finance minister.

Not all Labor politicians are interested in what Mathias Cormann has to say to the media, apparently.

The finance minister sends all his media transcripts by email to Labor members and senators after it was once suggested he was keeping information away from them.

In a rare light-hearted moment during a usually intense Senate estimates hearing, Senator Cormann hoped Labor frontbencher Katy Gallagher was getting the transcripts.

"I do, I'm bombarded. I have lost friends over this," she joked.

Senator Cormann said he had a list of Labor members and senators who have unsubscribed.

"I was very offended by this," he retorted.
