Labor going 'marshmallow': Latham

The once great Labor movement now resembles a whining pressure group, former federal leader Mark Latham says.

Former federal Labor leader Mark Latham is worried the party is using "marshmallow politics" to gain office.

But he concedes the tactic is working following state elections in Victoria and Queensland and possibly in NSW on Saturday.

The once-great Labor movement now resembles a whining pressure group, rather than a conduit for big thinking and big ideas, Mr Latham writes in The Australian Financial Review.
