Labor ponders NBN name change

The federal opposition says more needs to be done to differentiate its approach to the NBN compared to that of the coalition.

Labor is weighing up whether to give the national broadband network a new name.

The caucus was told on Tuesday more needed to be done to differentiate the coalition government's rollout of the NBN with what the previous Labor government had planned.

One MP suggested the term "real NBN", as the government's version was being rolled out slower and at a higher cost than what was originally planned.
