Labor promises big for western Sydney

Luke Foley says Western Sydney's Nepean Hospital will get a $351 million redevelopment if he's elected premier.

Nepean Hospital in Sydney's west will get a $351 million redevelopment if Labor wins government at the March 28 election, Luke Foley says.

The money will be reserved from $1.7 billion Labor says it can unlock for health funding in the state, without leasing parts of the electricity network.

"We are setting aside $351 million to complete Stage 4 of the redevelopment, which includes first-class services including a comprehensive cancer centre, new operating theatres and an enhanced emergency department," Mr Foley said.

The Labor leader spent Thursday morning campaigning in western Sydney, where he made a $22.7 million pitch to apprentices to ease their cost of living by giving them a $500 allowance for tools and clothing.
