Labor will act on climate change: Shorten

Bill Shorten has accused the government of misleading Australians by saying Labor wants to resurrect the carbon tax.

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten says Labor is the party to act on climate change, but not with a carbon tax.

Mr Shorten accused Prime Minister Tony Abbott of falsely resurrecting the carbon tax debate by telling Australians Labor wanted to revisit the policy.

"We won't go back to the high fixed price system," he told reporters in Sydney on Thursday.
