Laid-back Lynn hopes for chance to unload

Chris Lynn is unsure if he has done enough to face New Zealand in Australia's Champions Trophy opener, but is ready to take his IPL form to the global stage.

Chris Lynn is unsure whether he has done enough to start against New Zealand in Australia's Champions Trophy opener on Friday, but says he's ready to transfer his IPL form to the international arena.

The laid-back Queenslander admits fearing his hopes of appearing in the eight-team ICC showpiece in England had been dashed when he damaged his troublesome left shoulder.

He injured the joint for the third time in two years attempting a diving outfield catch for Kolkata Knight Riders.

"I was s***ing myself to be honest, I was in good nick as well," said Lynn, who averaged more than 49 in this year's IPL.

"It was probably the first thing that crossed my mind that it would dampen my chances of playing here.

"That's why I stayed over in India because I knew, there's not a great deal to do over there and rehab was the first priority."

The rehabilitation went well and Lynn marked his return to action with a 50 three weeks later, saying he was determined to do everything possible to be on the plane to England.

"I knew that if I stayed over there and tried to get a bit of game time I'd give myself every chance to get myself fit for this," he said.

I'm glad I did that and hopefully I'll get an opportunity."

Lynn's international opportunities have been limited to just one ODI and five T20 appearances and rain at Edgbaston on Monday denied him the chance to cement his place in a warm-up against Pakistan.

It followed a 19-run cameo against Sri Lanka at The Oval on Friday that saw him club two sixes in an over before being caught on the boundary rope.

"It was (disappointing not to play), especially seeing that 40-metre boundary," he said.

"Whoever plays in the best XI is obviously there for a reason and whoever's missing out is a bit, well, not stiff because who do you drop out of that line-up?

"We're all good players. Whatever happens ... if we win the comp who cares?"

"At The Oval I was just starting to get a move on but that's the way it goes.

"I'm not going to change the way I play, that's the style I like playing and the aerial route is my go-to so I won't change."
