Independent Tasmanian senator Jacqui Lambie hasn't decided whether to support the Abbott government's proposed changes to the age pension.
The crucial crossbench senator will meet with Social Services Minister Scott Morrison on Monday to discuss the budget changes that include tightening eligibility and a new asset test.
"I want to see it all in black and white ... I'm still sitting in middle on that," she told Sky News.
Greens Deputy Leader Scott Ludlam said he was "cautiously supportive" of some of the measures.
"We have been arguing for a broader retirement income review, because the elephant in the room is superannuation and its tax treatment," Senator Ludlam told Sky News.
Independent South Australian Senator Nick Xenophon believes making changes to the assets test is more sustainable and better than getting rid of average weekly earnings as a way of measuring future pension increases.
The government was forced to dump its plan to index the pension to inflation.
