Lawyers given evidence on Collombet murder

The case against the man accused of killing French student Sophie Collombet in Brisbane will return to court later this month.

Defence lawyers for the man accused of killing French student Sophie Collombet have now received the full brief of evidence against him.

Benjamin James Milward, 25, had his case mentioned in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.

He was not present as his defence team said they had now received all the evidence from the crown. They requested a two-week adjournment to review the documents.

The matter will be mentioned again on September 29.

Ms Collombet's naked and battered body was found in a rotunda at Kurilpa Park at South Bank on March 28.

Milward was arrested in Coffs Harbour on the NSW mid-north coast shortly afterwards.

He was extradited to Queensland on charges including murder, deprivation of liberty and armed robbery.
