The Lego Movie has built on its Australian box office success from last week, climbing past the Captain America sequel to grab the No.1 spot.
Despite earning $3.645 million, Captain America: The Winter Soldier fell to second place, as The Lego Movie, created largely by Australian company Animal Logic and starring the voices of Will Ferrell and Elizabeth Banks, earned $5.176 million and snapped up the top spot.
According to the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia, a lot of Australians headed to the cinema over the weekend, with the first six entries on the top 10 all cracking the $1 million mark.
New entries Divergent, based on the popular YA novel by Veronica Roth, and Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel took third and fourth place respectively. Animated film Mr Peabody & Sherman fell one place to fifth, while Russell Crowe's Noah dropped three spots to sixth.
Also slipping three places was The Monuments Men, down to eighth and Ride Along, now in ninth.
Muppets Most Wanted made its debut in seventh spot, while Disco Singh took 10th.
