Leicester unbeaten for 13 games in EC

Goal-scorer Kasper Schmeichel's equalising header against Yeovil has made it 13 games unbeaten for Leicester.

It was a case of a chip off the old block in more ways than one as goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel headed in a late equaliser to give English Championship leaders Leicester a 1-1 draw at home to Yeovil.

Schmeichel's goal on the stroke of full-time on Tuesday was reminiscent of the equalising header his father Peter, one of football's greatest goalkeepers, scored for English giants Manchester United against Rotor Volgograd in a UEFA Cup tie in 1995.

Kasper's goal made it 13 games unbeaten for Leicester, looking to join United in the elite Premier League next season.

Burnley, in the second automatic promotion place, moved to within three points of Leicester as they beat Doncaster 2-0 through a Sam Vokes penalty and a goal from Junior Stanislas.

Elsewhere, Queens Park Rangers, owned by Malaysian businessman Tony Fernandes, moved up into third place on the back of a 1-0 win at home to FA Cup holders Wigan.

Yossi Benayoun's 16th minute goal gave Harry Redknapp's west London side all three points.

But it was a match of mixed fortunes for Israel international Benayoun, the playmaker sent off late on at Loftus Road.

However, QPR remained 10 points adrift of Burnley, with their hopes of automatic promotion to the Premier League hanging by a thread.

At the other end of the table, Millwall dropped to the bottom following a 3-2 loss at home to Birmingham.

Jordon Ibe's opener was cancelled out when Steve Morison's shot went in off Birmingham defender Paul Robinson at the Den.

Headers from Andrew Shinnie and Nikola Zigic restored Birmingham's lead before Simeon Jackson pulled a goal back for the Lions in south London with a late penalty.
