Leicestershire sign Victorian quick McKay

English county Leicestershire have signed Australian medium-pacer Clint McKay for the 2015 season.

Leicestershire, long destined to finish bottom of the County Championship Division Two in a winless campaign to date this summer, are also set to lose a clutch of key players for next season.

But the arrival of 31-year-old Victorian McKay, who has previously played with distinction for Yorkshire as well as in 65 limited-overs matches and one Test for Australia, will raise spirits at Grace Road.

"We are absolutely thrilled to sign Clint," Leicestershire director of cricket Phil Whitticase said.

"He will add a lot of experience and quality to the team. Clint has an excellent track record both at international and domestic level, and we look forward to him complementing and working alongside our young bowlers at the club."
