Lib MP asks why Walker has changed tune

A Liberal MP has accused former independent national security legislation monitor Bret Walker SC of changing his tune on citizenship proposal.

A Liberal MP says he wants to know why the man who proposed stripping dual-nationality terror supporters of their Australian citizenship appears to have changed his tune.

Since the release of his report, former independent national security legislation monitor Bret Walker SC has said the minister should only be able to take it away after a criminal trial.

But writing in The Australian on Wednesday, Angus Taylor says "at no point does Walker propose this in his original report".
