A Liberal backbencher has likened two senators to the horseman of the Apocalypse over their pursuit of multinational companies.

As a Senate committee prepares to hear a second day of evidence to its inquiry examining corporate tax avoidance, Alex Hawke took a swipe at Greens leader Christine Milne and Labor's Sam Dastyari over the their "mad push" to abandon confidentiality of tax returns.
