Warriors prop Jacob Lillyman is taking the disappointment of missing Queensland selection on the chin, saying he won't be running around with a point to prove on Saturday.
The in-form Lillyman, having been considered a prospect for State of Origin I, will be back in NRL action against Gold Coast at Robina.
Yes, he would love to add to his six appearances for the Maroons, the last in 2011, and had hopes that could have happened next Wednesday.
"I thought I could have been in line and it was not to be, but I don't feel I have to go out there and make a statement," he said.
"I'm not kicking stones. I'm not out to prove anything to anybody. I'm just looking to go and do my job for the boys and hopefully we get two points."
Lillyman was twice Queensland's 18th man last year and hasn't given up on going one better over the remainder of the 2014 series.
"It's a long series and a lot can happen, so we'll see," he said.
"As long as I'm doing my job in club footy, if the opportunity arises, I'll grab it with both hands."
Lillyman, 30, underlined his contribution to the Warriors this season by again leading his pack's efforts in the 16-12 defeat to the Bulldogs in Hamilton last weekend.
He's happy he has been able to achieve one of the goals he set for himself at the start of the year.
"I just wanted to play consistent footy and I think I've done that so far," he said.
"But we're not even at the half-way mark yet so there's still a long way to go."
Meanwhile, coach Andrew McFadden played down the sight of halfback Shaun Johnson sitting out practice on Wednesday, saying it was a conservative move.
He said Johnson had a minor groin strain but was expected to take part in training on the Gold Coast on Friday.
If Johnson did have to pull out, Tuimoala Lolohea was on stand-by to make his NRL debut.
