Lions' vote of confidence in Leppitsch

Brisbane Lions coach Justin Leppitsch says there's nothing to celebrate just yet after extending his contract with the AFL club.

Brisbane Lions coach Justin Leppitsch says he feels he has the full backing of the AFL club after extending his contract for another year.

Leppitsch is now tied to the Lions until the end of the 2017 season and believes the side is poised for big things over the next few seasons.

"For me it's only a small part of a long journey. In a lot of ways it's terrific but there's nothing big to celebrate yet," Leppitsch told reporters on Tuesday.
