After copping an embarrassing AFL 'pantsing' last week, Brisbane will aim to win back some respect on Saturday night when they take on Fremantle at Patersons Stadium.
The Lions were left licking their wounds after suffering a 45-point defeat at the hands of GWS at the Gabba last week.
Brisbane know their chances of beating Fremantle in Perth are slim at best.
But assistant coach Shane Woewodin says his side are desperate to show more fight to make up for the limp display.
"We probably don't expect to win but we are not going to sit on our laurels and wait for the contest," Woewodin said.
"We are going to go out there and play the best footy we can and see what we can put across the line.
"We want to be really competitive - that's foremost. We don't want to roll over like we did last week.
"That was a really poor effort from our group, particularly in the back half of the game.
"We got our pants pulled down."
The Lions will be without inspirational skipper Jonathan Brown, who is considering retirement following his latest sickening knock to the face.
Fremantle have won their past five matches against Brisbane, with the Lions averaging just seven goals a game in the most-recent three encounters.
But Dockers coach Ross Lyon has warned his charges against complacency, especially after witnessing a host of upsets this season.
Woewodin said the Lions needed to be smarter and more efficient with the ball if they were to have any chance of victory.
And he hoped Brisbane's mosquito fleet of Dayne Zorko, Josh Green and Lewis Taylor could cause headaches for Fremantle's defence.
"The three Amigos are in good form," Woewodin said.
The 17th-placed Lions face a fight to avoid the wooden spoon after winning just three of their opening 12 games.
The fifth-placed Dockers (8-4) are right in the mix for a top-four berth, but are still without injured defenders Michael Johnson and Luke McPharlin.
