Listeria concerns for Christmas hams

A brand of leg ham has been recalled by the NSW Food Authority due to a listeria contamination.

A leg ham listeria contamination has prompted a recall across much of the country just days before Christmas.

Vic's Premium Quality Meat has recalled a certain variety of their leg ham due to the microbial contamination, the NSW Food Authority said on Friday.

Vic's have recalled 4.5kg bone-in half leg hams with a best before date of January 29, 2019.

The recall affects people in NSW, Western Australia and Queensland, who have been urged to check their hams.

The NSWFA said any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice and return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
