Loaded gun thrown from car in Perth

A loaded, sawn-off rifle has been thrown from a car travelling on a Perth highway - with police also uncovering replica pistols and a baton.

A bag with a loaded, sawn-off rifle has been thrown from a car in Perth's east.

The car was pulled over by police in Midvale late on Monday night after officers saw a Holden ute stop and the occupants throw the bag over a fence.

A subsequent search of the car uncovered two replica pistols, an extendable baton, handcuffs and a balaclava, police said on Tuesday.

Two Bellevue men - aged 26 and 27 - are to be charged with weapons offences.
