City administrator Jake Anderson for the Iowa city of Van Meter may or may not be feeling the pressure of knowing in about two weeks he could be on the receiving end of a taser - as part of a fundraising raffle.

The goal: to raise money for the local police department.

Anderson said the idea was formed several months ago.

"In all seriousness do we think we could raise some money doing this. That is kind of where it started."

Money raised will be used to buy a second police vehicle for the city, as well as digital speed signs.

Police Chief William Dagget said red raffle tickets would be sold to tase City Administrator Anderson, while blue tickets would be sold to tase City Councilor Bob Lacey.

"I will tell you that most of the people that have bought tickets said, 'I'm obviously not really going to tase the councilor.' It's about raising money for public safety."
