Former Gold Coast and Parramatta utility back Jordan Atkins has found a lifeline in the English Super League, signing a one-year deal with the London Broncos.

The 31-year-old utility back, who in 2008 scored four tries on debut for the Titans against North Queensland, is the fifth signing for the Broncos this off-season.

"Playing abroad in the Super League is something I have always wanted to achieve," said Atkins, who has arrived in London to prepare for the club's opening game at Widnes on Sunday week.

"I'm very excited about playing with such a young and talented squad of guys and, although the pre-season has been a bit unorthodox, we will all work hard together and embrace the challenges and opportunities throughout the year.

"I have no doubt I will learn a lot from all the playing group, staff and supporters. Exciting times ahead."

London coach Tony Rea said: "He's an experienced outside back, a really accomplished player who has been highly regarded in the NRL over a long period of time."
