The ‘London Story’ campaign is launched as the latest set of tourism figures from the International Passenger Survey (IPS) show the city on course for a record year, with the capital expected to welcome over 16 million visitors.

Chairman of promotional organisation, London & Partners Kit Malthouse says they are expecting their biggest year yet for tourism.
“We had a 20 percent increase in the number of visitors last Summer. It’s the most number of visitors we’ve had in the capital ever, probably since the Norman Invasion.”
Following on from the success of the 2012 Olympic Games, some of the capital’s biggest names such as celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and veteran model Twiggy have joined the campaign designed to encourage tourists to experience London through the eyes of a local.

It comes as tourism statistics for Australia show a rise in British visitors to the country, with over 618 000 visitors last year alone.
